Pastor James Abu is the founder of "GENESIS GOSPEL INTERNATIONAL"my passion is to build the community with christ's word.The church needed workers to help in community work in South africa and other african nations where we are spreading the Gospel at moment.
From my income in business I have bought a land and have started a foundation for community resource centre where we have feeding scheme for the aged, kids and homeless people arround South Africa.
PROGRESS REPORT AT OUR CENTRE.
The increase of the homeless people inthis municipality of Tswane has pushed our church(Genesis Gospel International) to act very fast, we believe our church has a responsiblity to address the problems faced by our people whom by one problem and the other are faced to be on the street of South Africa.
For the past few months we have accommoded and fed a number of Homeless people,some of them were very sick.we involved them in life skill programmes,eg. computer course, dress making at the church, Building skills at the centre. we assisted them with treatment and in securiing jobs for them. presently our centre stand as a place of hope and home for many disadvanataged people in the community, as church we pray for the sick and help those who needed help.
POLICE INTERVENTION
With the police intervention the soul of these homeless people are safe and we identify more than the number we required at the centre, the first centre was at the city centre as we growing the church bought place at Dilopy to build $5million Dallors site for this purposes.
CHALLENGES OF ONE OF OUR INTAKE
Mary is one of our intake because of the challenges she is facing at that time, Mary is 24 years old.She is from Eastern Cape.She had been in the city for the last six months. Her aim was to secure a job, which was going to sustain her family back home. She had a child of her own at home who had been left with her mother. Apart from her mother and the baby, she has six brothers and sisters who are under the age of 18 and she is expected to look after them.She has just broken up with her boyfriend.
- Mary was directed to our centre by the city police
- Mary had nothing to eat and she had been sleeping under the city's verandahs
- Mary was given food and accommodation on arrival
- She was given a mentor to look after her
- She was required to fill a contract form
- She was required to fill an intervention form
- She was put in a computer programme
- After two months she graduated
- mary has just secured a job.
